Thursday at Chiefs Training Camp: Justin Fields talks learning KC offense, Peter Woods grateful for knowledge from Chris Jones

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) - Thursday was a 10-10-10 day at Kansas City Chiefs Training Camp. That meant a lighter day of camp with 10 minutes for walk throughs, 10 minutes for offense vs. defense and 10 minutes for special teams.

Quarterback Justin Fields enters his 6th season in the NFL on his 4th different team. The one starter now turned backup might get a chance to. Start the season under center if Patrick Mahomes isn't fully healthy. Fields has been amazed with this new offense he's been running with the Chiefs and learning from Big Red along with number 15.

"It's a lot of different concepts. I will say this is one of the first offenses where just the things that we can do within a concept, the different options that QB has, it really kind of opens up a little bit," said Fields. "Then I've also seen different concepts that I really have never seen before. So it's been awesome to learn from Coach (Andy) Reid and Pat (Mahomes). So I've been blessed with a lot of knowledge as I've been here and I hope to continue to grow."

Wide receiver Nikko Remigio enters year 3 with the Chiefs. Once again, the undrafted free agent will have to fight and prove himself to the coaches to show he's worthy of a roster spot in KC.

"I consistently stay in a place of having everything to gain and nothing to lose," said Remigio. "I'm a firm believer in that and I stood up here in front of you guys last year and told you that my mentality was. That undrafted free agent that, that barely got a shot to make it, and I'm scratching and clawing, and I stand by that."

Rookie first round draft pick Peter Woods explains how much it means. To him to learn from a seasoned veteran on the defensive line like Chris Jones.

"In my opinion, that's a future Hall of Famer that I have an opportunity to be able to get to learn from and play beside and play with. So every opportunity that that we've been given to have one on one time together and talk through things, bounce knowledge off each other, I mean he's been super willing and almost even initiating for that to happen," said Woods. "I'm very appreciative of him and who he's been in this process for me moving forward."
