Chiefs’ head coach Andy Reid attended St. Joseph Goats Championship game Saturday night

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) - The St. Joseph Goats indoor football team won the Arena League Championship Saturday night on August 8th and a special visitor was there at the Civic Arena to see it happen.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid was in attendance to see the Goats win 52-30 over the Arkansas Diamonds as St. Joseph won its first Arena League title. The Chiefs had Sunday the 9th off from Training Camp on MoWest's campus across town, so Andy Reid decided to enjoy some local football entertainment in St. Joseph.

Reid was seen in one of his famous Hawaiian shirts at the Civic Arena, the veteran coach took selfies with fans at halftime, was seen dapping up Goats' wide receiver and former Chief, D'ionte "Boo" Smith and eating of course, a cheeseburger on the sideline.

"I told (coach Reid), I'm still down the street! He said, I know! I told him, coach I'm still here! I'm just trying to get another shot at the league," said Smith, who scored two touchdowns in St. Joseph's victory. "But I'm still with Team USA (for the National Flag Football Team) and shout out to the Goats as well!"

"I'm not going to lie, I was trying to act like I was on a job interview (with Reid in attendance)," said Goats head coach and Arena League Coach of the Year, Dorsey Golston III.

Reid and the Chiefs will continue to have Training Camp in St. Joseph all week leading to the team's first preseason game on Saturday, August 15th at Arrowhead Stadium at 3 pm hosting the Los Angeles Rams.
