North Central Missouri College athletics has announced that women's basketball head coach Joe McKinstry has stepped down from his position after one season leading the Lady Pirates program.

McKinstry guided the Lady Pirates to an outstanding 24-8 record during the 2025–26 campaign, culminating in a runner-up finish in the Region 16 tournament. His leadership helped continue the program's strong tradition of success both on and off the court.

"We would like to thank Joe and his family for making NCMC their home this past season," said Athletic Director Nate Gamet. "He did a tremendous job continuing the tradition of excellence for our women's basketball program and we wish him the best of luck in his new adventure."

NCMC extends its appreciation to Coach McKinstry for his contributions to the Lady Pirates and the campus community during his time in Trenton.

A national search for the next head women's basketball coach will begin immediately.
