The Meyerkorth girls lead Rock Port High School hoops to road win at King City
(KING CITY, MO) - The Rock Port High School girls basketball team and the #2 team in Class 1, defeated King City on the road 54-32 on Monday night.
Sophomore Audrie Meyerkorth led the Lady Blue Jays with 19 points, her sister senior Ella Meyerkorth was second with 14 points and freshman Leah Meyerkorth had 13. Junior Brylin Armfield led King City with 14 points.
"Our effort was significantly better tonight. We really struggled in that department and on-ball defense might have got a little bit complacent," said Rock Port head coach Austin Alitz. "They responded to me very well tonight. They did everything that I asked them to before the game, which is a short list, effort, and on-ball defense."
Rock Port, who won the 275 Conference regular season title outright back on Friday, February 13th, improves to 23-2 on the season. King City drops to 12-12.
Rock Port next hosts North Andrew on Tuesday, February 17th at 6 pm. King City plays at North Nodaway on the 17th at 6 pm.
