Mid-Buchanan’s Kaelin Rudkin signs with Highland Community College softball

(FAUCETT, MO) - Mid-Buchanan High School senior Kaelin Rudkin signed to play college softball at Highland Community College in Highland, Kansas on Wednesday.

Rudkin will continue to play in the outfield with the Scotties, as she did with the Lady Dragons.

As a senior last season with Mid-Buchanan, Rudkin saw 17 plate appearances, 4 hits, 3 RBI, 7 runs scored and a .286 batting average. Mid-Buchanan finished with a 32-8 record and a third place finish in the Class 2 State Tournament.

In edition to playing for Mid-Buchanan, Rudkin also played on a traveling softball team as well.

Rudkin is happy to continue her career at the next level.

"It means a lot because I honestly thought I was done just a few months ago and then (Highland Community College) reached out and I saw it as a great opportunity to continue," said Rudkin. When I went and practiced with them, I fit in with the girls pretty well, so they were just really excited that I was able just to group in really well. I'm also close to home, which is nice, so I don't have to worry about traveling super far or anything and I just like the dorms and all of that and their facilities are just great."
