Atchison High School senior Kael Williams signs with Sterling College hoops

(ATCHISON, KS) - Atchison high school senior Kael Williams signed to play basketball at Sterling College in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Williams was a key player on Atchison's teams the past few seasons as the Phoenix made deep runs into the state tournament. The Phoenix were sub-state champions in each of Williams' four seasons there.

Williams made second team all conference as a senior this past season as he averaged 11 points a game. Now he's taking his skills to the next level.

"It's the people, the coaching, I love my new teammates there. I got in touch with my teammates and my coaches, it's just a great feeling to be there," said Williams. "I'm wanted there, I'm just ready to play with them. They like that I like to share the ball with my teammates, get downhill, make plays for everybody and myself. They like that I'm a leader and I can get to the rim when I want to, so that's just me."
