Mid-Buchanan graduate Raife Smith signs with Garden City Community College basketball

FAUCETT, Mo. (KQTV) - Mid-Buchanan High School graduate and multi-sport athlete Raife Smith signed his letter of intent to play college basketball at Garden City Community College in Kansas on Saturday.

Smith was an all-state player in football, basketball, baseball and track/field for the Dragons in his high school career. He chose the hardwood for college for the Broncbusters to continue his career.

On top of making All-State his senior year in basketball, Smith was named First Team All-Conference in the KCI and won Player of the Year in the district.

""It's my senior year. I had to push through a lot of adversity just trying to make my mom and my family proud. So I was just trying to do the best that I could do day in and day out," said Smith.

Garden City Community College kicks off their season on Friday, November 6th against Ranger College at home in Conestoga Arena .
