Savannah High School volleyball earns 5-set road victory over Bishop LeBlond

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) - The Savannah High School volleyball team earned one of its most impressive victories of the season Tuesday night as the Savages defeated Bishop LeBlond on the road, 3-2 in 5 sets (25-15, 20-25, 25-17, 18-25, 15-13).

"We obviously wanted to get it done in three, but we got it done in five. A win is a win no matter what. We played like a team. We also are trying a lot of new things right now, so this is a good win for us," said Savannah senior Aryana Spry. "This is a good confidence boost for us, especially since us and LeBlond were both district teams that played last year. So this is a good confidence boost for us going into Benton."

"We needed it pretty bad. We've had a lot of new rotations, a lot of new people coming into the mix. So I think that we just need to prove to ourselves that it doesn't matter what rotation we're in, we can do whatever we want to as long as we fight hard enough," said Savannah senior Meara Delaney.

Savannah improves to 6-5 on the season and next plays at Benton on Thursday, September 24th at 6 pm. For Bishop LeBlond, the defeat snapped an 8-game win streak the Golden Eagles had going on this season. The team drops to 11-5 and next hosts St. Pius X on the 24th at 6 pm.
