St. Joseph Mustangs etch victory over Nevada Griffons at home

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) - The St. Joseph Mustangs baseball team came away with a 9-6 victory over the Nevada Griffons on Friday at Phil Welch Stadium.

In the bottom of the 4th down 1-0, Carter Belton gave St. Joseph the lead on a 3-run home run to right field. It was Belton's 4th home run of the season.

Then in the bottom of the 5th, Lafayette High School alum Jayden Little added his first homer of the season on a 2-run bomb to take a 5-1 lead. It was a big enough lead for St. Joseph to hold on to late.

The Mustangs improve to 9-5 on the season and turn around and will play Nevada again at Phil Welch on Saturday, June 20th at 7 pm.
