Tracking a sunny and toasty Memorial Day

Abundant sunshine and afternoon warmth has made for a fantastic Sunday across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas, with a ridge of high pressure keeping things quiet regionally. A cool and dry night is ahead with light southerly breezes and lows falling into the upper 50s to low 60s after midnight. Aside from a few passing clouds early on Memorial Day, sunny skies and even warmer temperatures are in the cards to finish out the long weekend, as highs rise into the mid to upper 80s with southerly winds at 15 to 20 mph. The toasty pattern will persist through the middle of next week, before rain and t-storm chances cool temperatures off closer to average in the extended forecast.
