Tracking a mild and dry Monday

After a stormy Saturday night and periods of rain early Sunday morning, a drying trend is taking place across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas. Mostly cloudy skies will linger through Sunday afternoon and evening, with skies gradually clearing overnight and lows falling into the upper 50s to low 60s. Partly to mostly sunny skies prevail Monday, with temperatures running about 10 degrees below average as afternoon highs struggle to make it to 80 degrees. A gradual warming trend and mainly dry conditions are ahead through the middle of the work week, with highs climbing into the low to mid 80s and only a few slim rain chances between periods of sunshine. Late June heat makes an appearance in the extended forecast, with upper 80s and low 90s returning by next weekend.
