Tracking late-week rain and t-storm chances

Partly cloudy skies and mainly dry conditions early Wednesday afternoon will give way to a slight chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms for the evening and overnight hours, with highs in the low 80s and lows falling well into the 60s. Rain and thunderstorm chances increase on Thursday as a front stalls across the region, bringing multiple waves of low pressure. Scattered showers and storms Thursday, will likely become more widespread Thursday night, potentially leading to locally heavy rainfall. Rain chances linger early Friday morning, before drier skies return, giving way to periods of sunshine and heat this weekend with afternoon highs returning to the upper 80s and low 90s.

A Flood Watch has been issued for the Kansas City metro and points south from 1 p.m. Thursday, June 25 to 7 a.m. Friday, June 26.
