Tracking extreme heat for Wednesday

Another day of dangerous summer time heat is on the way for northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas as the heat dome continues to grip the region. If you have any outdoor plans, make sure to be prepared for the heat and humidity.

Expect a mix of sunshine and a few fair-weather clouds throughout the day. Afternoon temperatures will climb into the mid-90, but increasing humidity, it will feel more like 105 to 110 degrees during the hottest part of the day.

A south wind at 10 to 20 miles per hour will continue through the day. While the breeze may offer brief relief, it will transport warm, humid air into the area, preventing much cooling.
