Tracking rain chances on Friday

After a mild and muggy start to the morning with temperatures in the upper 60s, clouds will increase through the day as moisture continues to stream into the region. Afternoon highs will climb into the lower 80s, making it a little cooler than recent days thanks to the extra cloud cover.

While much of the day will be dry, scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop, especially during the afternoon and evening hours. Not everyone will see the rain, but any storm the does develop could produce heavy downpours, gusty winds, and frequent lightning.

As we head into the weekend it will turn sunny and warm with a slight chance for some shower activity on Saturday morning.
