Tracking late-week heat and humidity, spotty t-storm chances

High heat and humidity will continue to be the main theme across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas Thursday and Friday, with a few spotty rain and t-storm chances here and there as well. Partly cloudy skies and a 20% to 30% chance of Thursday morning t-showers will give way to mostly sunny skies this afternoon. Highs will reach the low to mid 90s after 2 p.m. with heat index values well into the triple digits for several hours. A Heat Advisory remains in effect for counties along the HWY-36 corridor through 8 p.m. Thursday. An Extreme Heat Warning remains in effect through Saturday further south through the KC metro and I-70 corridor.
