Tracking lingering rain and t-storm chances

Periods of rain and thunderstorm activity will continue across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas late Tuesday and into parts of Wednesday, as a low pressure system moves through the area. Spotty rain chances and considerable cloud coverage early Tuesday evening will give way to more widespread showers and thunderstorms for the overnight hours. A few storms may be severe, mainly south of Highway-36 between 11 p.m. Tuesday and 3 a.m. Wednesday. Gusty winds, pockets of hail, and locally heavy rain will be the primary hazards. Low temperatures fall into the mid to upper 60s early Wednesday morning, with afternoon highs in the upper 70s to low 80s, partly sunny skies and a slight chance of t-showers Wednesday afternoon.
