Tracking a warm and dry start to the work week

Spring-like warmth and dry skies have returned to Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas to finish out the weekend. This trend will continue into much of next week as temperatures remain 20 to 25 degrees above average with minimal rain chances. Southerly winds will increase over the next 24 to 48 hours, reinforcing warm air and potentially leading to elevated fire danger by Tuesday. A series of cold fronts will promote cooler temperatures and bring a few slight rain chances to the region to end the work week and start the upcoming weekend.

Tonight: Partly cloudy and cool. Low 39.

Monday: Partly cloudy and breezy. Southwest winds at 15 to 20 mph. High 66.

Tuesday: Partly cloudy and windy. Southwest winds at 20 to 30 mph. High 72.
