Tracking scattered rain & clouds on Friday

Good morning and happy Friday.

As you’re heading out the door this morning, we’re tracking a few scattered showers as a warm front and area of low pressure move in from the south and west. Rain chances will remain light and fairly spotty throughout the day, but a few passing showers will be possible for much of our Friday.

Cloud cover will also increase alongside those rain chances, so expect a mostly cloudy day. Highs this afternoon will climb into the low 70s with mild conditions continuing.

Heading into the weekend, we’ll clear out and see sunshine for the first half of Saturday before another round of rain and thunderstorms moves in Saturday evening and into early Sunday morning.

The good news is the timing currently looks favorable for Mother’s Day weekend, with storms expected to begin around 4 p.m. Saturday and wrap up by around 9 a.m. Sunday. So, it’s not looking like a complete washout.

Behind that system, slightly cooler air settles in Sunday with highs in the 70s, but we’ll quickly warm back into the 80s heading into next week.
