Tracking late-week rain chances

A cool and sunny Wednesday afternoon will give way to increasing clouds and a slight chance of showers overnight, with lows near 50 degrees and northeast breezes at 10 to 15 mph. Considerable cloud coverage and passing rain chances will overspread the region Thursday and Friday, as multiple waves of low-pressure track through the area. Rain-cooled air will keep afternoon highs in the 60s both Thursday and Friday, before sunshine promotes a warm-up just in time for Memorial Day Weekend.

Flood Warnings remain in place for a handful of waterways across Northwest Missouri, including the Platte River and Grand River following heavy rainfall earlier in the week. River levels are forecast to fall over the coming days, although additional late-week rainfall could aggravate flooding in some waterways late Thursday and into Friday.
