Tracking scattered showers & cool temperatures

Good morning and happy Thursday.

Out the door this morning, temperatures are starting in the upper 40s to near 50 degrees with increasing cloud cover across northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas.

Rain chances return today as a warm front begins lifting into the region. We’ll have the chance for scattered showers throughout the day, with a few thunderstorms possible later this afternoon and evening. Highs today will stay on the cooler side, only reaching the low to mid-60s.

Rain chances increase overnight tonight, with periods of showers and thunderstorms continuing into Friday morning. Some heavier rainfall will be possible at times, with temperatures staying cool in the upper 60s Friday afternoon.

By Saturday, we finally begin drying out. Clouds will gradually decrease through the day, with temperatures warming back into the middle 70s by the afternoon.

Sunday looks even better for outdoor plans, with mostly sunny skies and highs returning near 80 degrees.

For Memorial Day, sunshine and warmer temperatures continue, with highs climbing into the middle 80s under mostly sunny skies.

Overall, after a cooler and wetter end to the workweek, Memorial Day weekend is shaping up to bring much more comfortable weather conditions across the St. Joseph area.
