Tracking a warm and toasty Tuesday

Good morning and happy Tuesday.

As you’re heading out the door this morning, it’s another warm and mild start across northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas. Temperatures are already in the mid to upper 60s, with south winds continuing to pull in warmer air.

We’ll stay mostly sunny throughout the day with just a few passing clouds at times, and those warmer temperatures will continue climbing quickly. By lunchtime, many spots will already be in the low 80s, so be sure to stay hydrated if you’re spending time outdoors.

Highs this afternoon will climb back into the upper 80s, making for another hot day across the area. Overnight tonight, temperatures only cool back into the mid-60s before another warm start Wednesday morning.

Rain chances begin to return late Thursday into Friday as a few scattered showers move through the region. At this point, rainfall looks fairly scattered and light in nature, with rain chances beginning to taper off by Saturday.

Until then, we’ll continue with above-average temperatures, with highs staying in the upper 80s through Wednesday.

And for baseball fans, it’s shaping up to be a warm evening for the St. Joseph Mustangs home opener Wednesday night.
