Tracking a hot & sunny Tuesday

Good morning and happy Tuesday.

We're starting the day with comfortable summer conditions across northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas. Temperatures are in the upper 60s to low 70s this morning, making it a bit cooler than the heat we experienced last week. Light north winds are also helping keep humidity levels in check, making for a pleasant start to the day.

Expect mostly sunny skies with just a few passing clouds throughout the day. Temperatures will warm quickly, reaching the middle to upper 80s by lunchtime before climbing to around 90 degrees this afternoon. While it will be hot, the lower humidity will make conditions feel much more comfortable than they did last week.

Clear skies tonight will allow temperatures to cool back into the low 70s.

Dry weather continues through most of Wednesday before our next weather system arrives Wednesday night. A cold front will bring scattered showers and thunderstorms to the area Wednesday night through Thursday, with the greatest coverage expected across northeast Kansas and far northwest Missouri. Additional scattered showers may linger into Friday before drier weather returns for the weekend.

Enjoy the sunshine today, and keep an eye on the forecast as rain chances increase during the second half of the workweek.
