Tracking weekend heat and humidity, slight rain chances

August heat and humidity has returned to Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas this weekend, and is slated to stick around through early next week. Aside from a few slight rain and t-storm chances Saturday night and early Sunday morning, generally dry skies and periods of sunshine will prevail for the next several days. High temperatures in the upper 80s Saturday afternoon will give way to more intense heat Sunday, as highs warm into the mid to upper 90s with triple digit heat index values expected.
