New sneaker shop opens along North Belt Highway

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- Woodlawn Shopping Center saw the opening of a new business this week, giving "sneakerheads" and fashion lovers a new place to shop.

Dream of Sneakerz has been in the works since last summer and finally opened on Feb. 9 next to Baskin-Robbins at 2233 North Belt Highway.

The shop prides itself on offering another local alternative for sneaker lovers to buy hard-to-find shoes in sizes for men, women and children.

Dream of Sneakerz also offers a range of clothing from brands such as Fear of God Essential.  

Connecting with a unique client base in the area is something that one of the business partners, Rudy Cavazos, doesn’t take for granted.

“We've already had good feedback, a lot of good feedback, and we've seen a lot of sneaker heads in this town that a lot of people didn't know existed. It means a lot because now it saves time and saves money,” Cavazos said. “We’ve got good feedback from all our customers, which means a lot to us, and we're happy to bring it here.”

Along with selling sneakers, the shop also offers buy-and-trade options for other local sneaker lovers to offload hard-to-find kicks.
