Buchanan County inmate dies following self-harm incident

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- A Buchanan County Jail inmate died from her injuries after a self-harm attempt on Feb. 15, 2026.

The Buchanan County Sheriff's Office identified the inmate as Sarah Gibson, 33, of St. Joseph.

An autopsy is scheduled, according to the sheriff's office.
