4 local grapplers advance to Class 1 Girls state semifinals

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KQTV) — Four local high school wrestlers will wrestle in the Class 1 Girls semifinals on Thursday.

Gallatin's Miah Parker, Mid-Buchanan's Zuzu Kountz, Maysville's Claire Barton, and Polo's Allexa Storts have made it to their respective state semifinals.

Here are the semifinalists and the wrestlers trying to keep their seasons alive in wrestlebacks on Thursday morning.

100 3rd Round Wrestlebacks- N. Ziolkowski (Benton); I. Hofmeister (Plattsburg)

105 3rd Round Wrestlebacks- O. Cunningham (Mid-Buchanan)

110 3rd Round Wrestlebacks- M. Bauman (Maysvile); N. Watkins (Rock Port)

115 3rd Round Wrestlebacks- E. Teten (Rock Port)

120 Semifinals- Z. Kountz (Mid-Buchanan)

135 3rd Round Wrestlebacks- S. Smith (Mid-Buchanan)

140 Semifinals- A. Storts (Polo)

145 3rd Round Wrestlebacks- G. Rindom (Lathrop)

170 Semifinals- C. Barton (Maysville)

235 Semifinals- M. Parker (Gallatin)

Class 1 Girls will start at 10:15 Thursday morning with the semifinals and third-round wrestlebacks. At 11 a.m., the fourth-round wrestlebacks will begin.
