Lady Griffons take down the the Tigers in the MIAA Tournament

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KQTV) -- The MoWest Lady Griffons advance to the MIAA Semifinals after an overtime win against the Fort Hays State Tigers, 77-68.

Mia Morel once again led the Griffons in scoring with 32 points. She also set a new MIAA Tournament record for most shot attempts in a game with 36 attempts. The other leaders for the Griffons were Ana Oliveira Dias with 13 and Lindsey Kelderman with 11. Scoring leaders for the Tigers were Talexa Weeter with 20, Olivia Mortensen with 20 and Brooke Loewe with 16.

MoWest now improves to 15-15 on the season, while Fort Hays State will fall to 24-5 and will prepare for the NCAA Tournament.

#7 MoWest will play on Saturday at 2:15 p.m. against either #3 Washburn or #6 Pittsburg State.
