St. Joseph Christian to add wrestling program next school year
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- St. Joseph Christian School is set to begin a wrestling program for student-athletes in the 2026-27 school year.
The decision was made to expand athletic opportunities for athletes who are interested in the sport.
The program will be open to boys and girls, and will be led by Head Coach Joshua Walters.
"Wrestling is a sport that builds discipline, perseverance, mental toughness and integrity," SJCS said in a news release. "The program will focus on developing athletes who compete with excellence while representing Christ well."
The school said preparation for the inaugural season will begin soon, and additional details regarding schedules and participation will be announced in the coming months.
