Benton cruises to Class 4 quarterfinals

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KQTV) — The Benton Cardinals boys basketball team is heading back to the Class 4 quarterfinals.

Benton defeated Smithville, 81-45, Tuesday night at Staley High School in the Class 4 Sectional round.

Senior Lincoln Goodwin led the way with 30 points and junior Jason Simmons added in 24 points.

The Cardinals will play St. Michael the Archangel at 6 p.m. on Saturday at North Kansas City High School.
