Tracking a chilly start to Tuesday, warm temperatures on the way

Good morning and happy St. Patrick’s Day.

As you head out the door this morning, conditions are improving compared to yesterday. Winds have eased significantly after gusting into the upper 50s mph Tuesday morning. Today, winds are much lighter, generally in the single digits.

Temperatures are starting off in the low teens, but wind chills still make it feel like the single digits and, at times, below zero.

We’ll see a warmer afternoon compared to yesterday, with highs reaching the upper 30s to low 40s. Cloud cover will be persistent throughout the day as a round of moisture moves in around 3 p.m.

This system could bring a few light showers and possibly some snowflakes. However, a significant amount of dry air is in place, so much of this moisture may struggle to reach the ground.

Tonight, skies clear and conditions dry out. Temperatures will be milder, only dropping into the low to mid-30s.

That sets the stage for a big warm-up Wednesday, with highs climbing into the upper 60s under mostly sunny skies.

The warming trend continues through the week, with temperatures reaching the upper 70s by Thursday and climbing into the 80s by Friday and Saturday. Expect mostly clear and dry conditions to continue.
