Tracking sunshine & warmer temperatures today

Good morning and happy Thursday, St. Joseph.

Temperatures are off to a much warmer start compared to yesterday, with readings in the upper 40s to low 50s this morning. We’ll warm up quickly through the day, with highs climbing into the upper 70s under plenty of sunshine.

This warming trend continues into Friday, when we could challenge a record high. The forecast calls for a high near 83 degrees. The current record for the date is 82 degrees, set in 1934.

The warmth sticks around into Saturday, bringing another chance to tie or break a record. Highs are expected to reach near 87 degrees. The standing record is 88 degrees, set in 1916.

A front moves through Saturday evening into Sunday, bringing cooler temperatures. Highs will drop back into the upper 60s by Sunday, though conditions remain dry through the end of the weekend.

Looking ahead to early next week, temperatures settle back into the upper 50s, closer to seasonal norms. By Wednesday, highs rebound into the upper 70s.
