KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KQTV)— A St. Joseph, Mo. native is starting the 2026 season on the Kansas City Royals Opening Day roster.

Left-handed pitcher Noah Cameron has earned his way into being the club's fifth starter in the rotation.

Cameron made his Major League debut last April in a spot start for Kansas City.

The former Central standout returned to the Majors in mid-May and stayed in the starting rotation for the remainder of the year.

Cameron went 9-7 in his rookie season. He pitched in 138.1 innings and finished with a 2.99 ERA.

The Royals start the regular season on the road at 6:15 p.m. Friday against the Atlanta Braves.

Cameron is scheduled to make his first start of the 2026 season on Wednesday, April 1 against the Twins.

First pitch is set for 6:40 p.m. at Kauffman Stadium.
