Benton girls soccer edges out win over Bishop LeBlond

(ST. JOSEPH, MO) - The Benton High School girls soccer team opened its season with a narrow 2-1 home victory over Bishop LeBlond at Sparks Field.

Senior Eliana Arambula scored a first half goal for the Lady Cardinals, but then 12 minutes into the second half, sophomore Emily Conz tied the game for Bishop LeBlond.

Then with 15 minutes left to play, Arambula delivered a strong pass to sophomore Kyndall Hubbard who delivered the go-ahead goal for the Lady Cardinals. Benton sophomore keeper Jade Mabion had some great saves in the final minutes to seal the win.

Benton gets to 1-0 and next plays at Savannah on Monday, March 30th at 4:30 pm. Bishop LeBlond drops to 0-1 and next plays at Central on Wednesday, April 1st at 5 pm.
