Mid-Buchanan senior Harry Archer signs with Culver-Stockton baseball

(FAUCETT, MO) - Mid-Buchanan High School senior Harry Archer signed his letter of intent to play college baseball for Culver-Stockton in Canton, Missouri on Friday.

Archer, a pitcher and first baseman for the Dragons, will look to focus solely on pitching at the next level.

As a junior last season, Archer pitched 30 innings and had 30 strikeouts with a 2.077 ERA. He had a .309 batting average at the plate as well, showing his versatility.

Archer and Mid-Buchanan baseball are off to a 3-1 start this season, Harry recently pitched on Thursday, March 26th in a 13-3 victory over Lawson in 5 innings. He pitched all 5 innings and finished with 4 strikeouts and gave up 4 hits and 3 runs in windy conditions.

Archer will now join a Culver-Stockton team that already has North Platte alum Ben Jaycox on the roster. Harry's older brother Will Archer also was a strong pitcher for Mid-Buchanan.

He's excited to continue playing at the next level.

"(Culver-Stockton) gave me a great opportunity. I talked to them and I liked their baseball team. I think they could be very beneficial for me and they could really help me out," said Archer. "They could really help me develop and grow stronger as a pitcher. I want to focus on my command and my strength for my VLO and my arm out there. Just give us a good chance at winning. It feels great. I'm really excited about it. It's gonna be a, a long journey. But I'm really looking forward to it."

Archer and Mid-Buchanan next play at Polo on Tuesday, March 31st at 4:30 pm.
