Christensen withdraws from re-election bid for MO House District 2 seat

BETHANY, Mo. (KQTV) — The current Missouri House of Representative for District 2 will not seek re-election.

In a post on her Facebook page, Representative Mazzie Christensen (R-Bethany) announced that she will be stepping away at the end of this term and will not seek re-election.

Christensen cited her family as the reason for stepping away from politics for the time being. She announced in her Facebook video that she is expecting a child.

The St. Joseph, Mo. native won her first election in 2023. She is a graduate of St. Joseph Christian High School (2017) and Missouri Western State University (2020).

There are two individuals that have filed for District 2 seat. Republican Freddie Griffin (Hamilton) and Libertarian Shelby Dreier (Winston).
