1 seriously injured in head on crash on I-35 in Daviess County

DAVIESS COUNTY, Mo. (KQTV) -- One man is seriously injured in a head on crash and traveled off the roadway in a Daviess County crash Thursday night.

The crash occurred at 9:21 p.m. Thursday on Interstate 35 in the northbound lanes at the 67.2 mile marker, just three miles northwest of Winston, Missouri.

The 37-year-old male driver from Kansas City, Missouri, of a 2010 Mercury Milan was traveling south in the northbound I-35 lanes, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

The driver struck another vehicle, a 2026 Chevrolet Trax driven by a 43-year-old man from Belton, Missouri, head on.

The Mercury then traveled off the left side of the roadway and came to rest in the median on its wheels facing northwest.

The Chevrolet traveled off the left side of the roadway and came to rest on its wheels in the median facing southwest.

The 43-year-old from Belton, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was transported by KAW EMS to Cameron Regional Medical Center.

The driver of the Mercury was also wearing a seatbelt.
