SAVANNAH, Mo. (KQTV) -- An 18-year-old Savannah, Missouri, teen received a suspended imposition of sentence and was placed on probationary period of three years after he brandished a pistol on Savannah High School's property in December.

Christopher Burnett will be supervised by the Division of Probation and Parole and was sentenced to serve 60 days shock, which began on April 6. He is given credit for any time served.

Burnett was ordered not to associate or have any contact in any way with the victim involved in the case, or members of his family.

The court ordered him to not to be on any property that is owned, occupied or operated, nor attend any event sponsored by the Savannah R-III School District. Burnett also is not allowed to be on the premises or on the property of any firearm store, gun range, gun show, etc.

Burnett was also ordered not to be near any alcohol or possess certain over-the-counter medications.

According to a probable cause statement, Burnett's brother was engaged in a verbal alternation with another student in December 2025.

Video evidence, recorded by a student, showed the camera had allegedly shifted toward a pickup truck where Burnett was seated in the driver's seat, pointing a small handgun in the direction of the other individuals involved.

Burnett's brother was seen returning to the truck, where an audio recording captured him saying, "Put the gun away."
