Friends of the Animal Shelter fundraiser cancelled due to weather

ST. JOSEPH, Mo (KQTV) -- A local 5k was forced to cancel due to lightning-induced weather Saturday morning.

Friends of the Animal Shelter's 12th Annual 5k Run/Walk for the Paws had to be called off after being postponed twice.

Originally scheduled to start at 9 a.m., the event organizers postponed it for about half an hour. Ultimately, they ended up canceling the event.

The group's Facebook page will be posting an update on where to pick up an event T-Shirt for those who registered for one and did not receive it.
