Tracking more October warmth and sunshine

A dry and unseasonably warm pattern continues across the heartland and entire Mid-Missouri River Valley for the rest of this week, and much of the weekend. Relatively cool late nights and early mornings will be preceded with toasty and sunny afternoons Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with lows generally in the 50s and highs near 80 degrees. Light winds Thursday give way to more southerly breezes Friday and Saturday as a cold front approaches from the high plains. Winds could occasionally gust over 20 mph. Clouds gradually increase Sunday as the front slowly pushes into the area, bringing spotty rain chances and more seasonable air by early next week as highs fall to the low 70s and upper 60s Monday through Wednesday.
