ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV)-- The St. Joseph School District held a board meeting where one agenda item focused on a farewell planned for Thursday, May 14.

The event is designed to give students, staff, families and alumi a chance to come toegther and celebrate their memories of school buildings that will soon transition under the district's reorganization plan.

SJSD Director of Communication and Community Relations Becky Dunn said events like this have been a positive way for the community to reflect and reconnect in the past.

"Really remember the experiences to share memories and have a way to close the chapter on those buildings that are transitioning," Dunn said.

There will also be open house events that will offer opportunities for families and staff to visit the new buildings that they will be in next fall.
