Tracking a slightly cooler and sunny Wednesday

Good morning and happy Wednesday.

As you’re heading out the door this morning, temperatures are cooler than yesterday, with lows in the low to mid-50s. Even with the cooler start, highs this afternoon will still warm above seasonal averages, reaching the upper 70s to low 80s.

After yesterday’s cold front moved through, winds have shifted out of the north, bringing in slightly cooler air and keeping temperatures a few degrees lower than yesterday.

High pressure will settle in through the day, keeping conditions sunny and dry into the overnight hours.

A warm front moves through early Thursday morning, bringing the chance for a few light, scattered showers during the morning commute. We’ll dry out for much of Thursday before another round of showers and thunderstorms develops Thursday evening.

By Friday afternoon, another round of storms could become strong to severe. We’re currently under a Level 2 out of 5 risk, with the main threats being large hail and gusty winds.

Additional thunderstorm chances will linger through the weekend as temperatures continue climbing back into the 90s.
