Flood Warning issued May 18 at 10:28PM CDT until May 19 at 9:30AM CDT by NWS Kansas City/Pleasant Hill MO

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE…Atchison County in northwestern Missouri…
Northwestern Holt County in northwestern Missouri…
Northwestern Nodaway County in northwestern Missouri…

* WHEN…Until 930 AM CDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads
remain closed due to flooding.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 1028 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Flooding is already occurring in the warned area.
Between 2 and 4.5 inches of rain have fallen.
– Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the
warned area.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Tarkio, Rock Port, Fairfax, Craig, Elmo, Westboro, Watson,
Corning and Phelps City.

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
