Mustangs offering 2 free tickets to St. Joseph citizens

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- The St. Joseph Mustangs are offering local residents free tickets for one game in June following the completion of upgrades to Phil Welch Stadium.

St. Joseph voters approved nearly $2 million in Parks CIP tax-funded projects for Phil Welch Stadium a few years ago. As those projects are completed, the Mustangs front office is making sure to thank voters.

The Mustangs announced on social media Thursday morning that the organization is offering all St. Joseph residents two free general admission tickets to the team’s game on Saturday, June 6.

“Phil Welch looks incredible — almost two million dollars' worth of projects have been put into the historic stadium built in 1939 as a result of a Parks CIP tax,” the Mustangs wrote in a Facebook post. “We can’t wait for you to experience it this summer, with brand-new seating throughout the stadium, among other improvements. This was all made possible by local leadership, but also YOU — the local citizens who voted for it.”

You can request your free tickets for Saturday, June 6, here.

The Mustangs open the 2026 season at 6:30 p.m. next Wednesday, May 27, at Phil Welch Stadium against the Monarchs.
