Tracking lingering clouds and spotty rain chances

Gray skies and cool air have remained in place across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas Thursday, as moisture streams in from the south bringing a few widely scattered showers. Spotty rain chances but still plenty of dry time continues Thursday evening, overnight, and into Friday, with lows falling into the mid 50s and highs rising into the upper 60s to near 70 degrees on Friday. Rain chances will dwindle Saturday with peaks of sunshine returning and a warming trend, as highs rise into the mid to upper 70s. Sunshine will prevail for the second half of Memorial Day weekend, along with toasty afternoons with highs well into the 80s.

Flood Warnings remain in place for the Platte River and Grand River following heavy rainfall earlier in the week. River levels are forecast to continue falling over the coming days. Additional late-week rainfall is not anticipated to be heavy or widespread enough to exacerbate flood concerns.
