ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV)-- The 2025 MINK League Champions will start their 2026 season on Wednesday night in front of their home fans.

The St. Joseph Mustangs will host the Monarchs in non-league action.

Fans going to the game will notice some upgrades around Phil Welch Stadium. As part of the 2021 Park Sales Tax, the stadium has received new bench-style seating, repairs around the concourse, and new box seats.

"It's a lot of fun," Mustangs owner Ky Turner said. "And so I think guests are going to walk out of here just saying, you know, Phil Welch Stadium, we're very lucky to have it here in our community for a lot of different reasons, but it's really great to have those new renovations."

Phil Welch Stadium was built in 1939 and has been the only home of the St. Joseph Mustangs.

First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Phil Welch Stadium.
