DEKALB COUNTY, Mo. (KQTV) -- One man and one woman are dead following a DeKalb County crash Sunday morning.

At 11:53 am on Sunday, June 7, a 42-year-old woman from Chillicothe was driving eastbound on US-36. Her car struck a load being towed by a 44-year-old man from Renton, Washington. He was driving a 2012 Peterbilt north on MO-33 as he crossed US-36.

A DeKalb County deputy coroner pronounced the car’s two occupants dead: the 42-year-old woman from Chillicothe and a 43-year-old man from St. Joseph. The Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop H report did not mention if they wore seatbelts.

Law enforcement officials confirm that the next of kin of both deceased individuals have been notified.

The driver from Renton, Washington, was uninjured.
