New traffic ordinance passed in Clinton County

CLINTON COUNTY, Mo (KQTV) -- The Clinton County Sheriff's Department enforced new speed limits on its roadways.

The speed limit on all county-maintained roads is now 40 miles per hour, unless other speed limit signs are posted.

This new enforcement comes as several county-maintained roads are either narrow, gravel or have many blind curves or hills.

Drivers who are traveling on county roads without a speed limit sign are urged to assume the limit is 40.

Over the upcoming weeks, the Sheriff's office is urging drivers to keep watch for newly placed road signs.
