KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KQTV) -- Two EF-0 tornadoes were confirmed to have struck parts of Clay and Jackson counties Saturday evening, June 13 as severe storms rolled through the area.

According to preliminary damage surveys conducted by the National Weather Service on Sunday, the first tornado touched down near Avondale, Mo. at 8:34 p.m. and tracked just over 9 miles with a path width of 200 yards and maximum winds of 85 mph.

A second tornado touched down in Liberty, Mo. at 8:47 p.m. and tracked just under 3.5 miles with a path width of 100 yards and maximum winds of 85 mph.

In both instances, damage was mainly limited to trees. No injuries were reported.
