MARYVILLE, Mo. (KQTV) -- For the second time in as many years, a KXCV-KRNW broadcaster took home the top honor in sports reporting at the Missouri Broadcasters Association.

KXCV-KRNW's program and sports director Matt Tritten won first-place for Best Sports Report in Small Market Radio earlier this morning.

Tritten earned the honor for his coverage on Maryville native Jalen Sundell's appearance in Super Bowl LX this past season with the Seattle Seahawks.

“Matt’s success is a testament to the hard work and passion he brings to our coverage every day,” said John Coffey, KXCV-KRNW's Director and Station Manager. “To be recognized by the Missouri Broadcasters Association with a second straight Best Sports Report award is an outstanding achievement. He consistently finds stories that connect with listeners and highlights the people behind the games. We’re fortunate to have him on our team, and I couldn’t be happier to see his work recognized by the Missouri Broadcasters Association.”

Tritten started at KXCV-KRNW on Northwest Missouri State's campus in 2017 as an underwriting sales associate and took over as program director in April 2026.

During his time at KXCV-KRNW, Tritten launched the Spoofhound Radio Network in 2022. He created the station's annual Run for Radio virtual 5K that helps raise funding for the station.

He started his career at KQ2 where he became the sports director and won an award from the Missouri Broadcasters Association for his coverage of the Kansas City Royals' World Series appearance in 2014.

Also, Tritten spent a year as the assistant general manager of the St. Joseph Mustangs.
