Kidder man seriously injured in Caldwell County crash

CALDWELL COUNTY, Mo. (KQTV) -- A Kidder, Missouri, man was seriously injured following a two-vehicle crash in Caldwell County Thursday morning.

The crash occurred as the 64-year-old man from Kidder, driving a 2009 Chevrolet Pickup, was eastbound on JC Penney Drive, three miles southeast of Kidder.

A 29-year-old man from Pattonsburg, Missouri, driving a 2023 GMC van, was southbound on Caldwell Road.

Both vehicles met approximately at the same time at the uncontrolled intersection, according to a Missouri State Highway crash report.

The van entered the intersection first and was struck on the passenger side by the pickup.

Both vehicles came to rest off the southeast corner of the intersection against a utility pole. The pickup came to rest on its wheels facing west. The van came to rest on top of the pickup facing south, according to the crash report.

The Kidder man was taken with serious injuries by Caldwell County Ambulance to Liberty Hospital. The Pattonsburg man had no injuries.
